Encouraged to create from an early age, I observed and recorded people and the world around me. This led me to Art School where I completed a BA Honours (Coventry University, UK). At university I honed my love of painting and drawing from life. I found myself most fulfilled in the life drawing studios where I was able to hone my observational drawing skills and gave me an understanding of the nude form. The life drawing discipline became the arena to explore techniques and styles that I then carry over into other areas of my work. I also find inspiration in nature, plants, flowers, still-lives and landscapes. The use of colour is all important. I love to reflect our world in the most colourful way that I can, breaking up blocks of colour making use of multiple layers of coloured paint washes and overlaying with finer more detailed drawings/paintings.
